Huawei Stops Production of Budget Smartphones Due to Shortage of Microcircuits

More recently, Huawei remained the leader in the production and sale of smartphones worldwide. But a series of economic failures and political aggravation between China and the United States left the manufacturer out of business, and the last attempts to raise his head again finished off the notorious shortage of microcircuits. It seems that now Huawei is abandoning the production of smartphones – so far only from the low-end segment.

An employee of one of the official Huawei stores in China said that the budget line of Nova is no longer in production and that the cheapest option that can be found in the store is the Huawei Nova 8 Pro. It is still available in limited quantities at the price of approximately $617.

Huawei news experts report that in the five stores they visited, they managed to find only four models of the company’s smartphones. In addition, the cost of these devices was significantly higher than the manufacturer’s recommended cost.

According to the reports of the MyDrivers, the company had to take such a step in order to stay afloat during a difficult time for electronics manufacturing. This is due to the shortage of silicon components, which affects not only computer manufacturers but even large car manufacturers.
